"Mars Botanical Garden"
(1988) is the first album of "Psychedelic Plants Research Laboratory" [known as "Aurora Heads" in some parts of US] ,
the legendary psychedelic trance / electronica band by AQi Fzono
in the late 1980s.
(
After the formation of Psychedelic Plants Research Laboratory in 1987, they have used several other names for the band on occasions such as Acid Head Organization and Aurorae. Currently Psychedelic Plants Research Laboratory is the only name they use. They were based in USA since 1988 - 2007, Since 2008 they removed to Japan. ) |

| Lavalamp Records is the one of
the most hippest music label and total arts production.
We were based in USA in 1988 - 2005, but we removed to Canada and Japan since 2006. |
Lavalamp Records
mainly produces Dance / Trance, Techno, Electronica,
Ambient, Psychedelic and Space Rock and pop . Our artistic focus is not always
the pop music mainstream, in the progressive and experimental hinterlands
where rock meets ethnic, classical meets electronic, pop meets avant-garde,
and so on.
So we have no special limited categorization for music at all, however
we mainly treat the following genre : Space music, Techno, House, Tribal, Psychedelic, Trance, House, Progressive Rock, Underground,
Ambient, Electronica, IDM, Drum'n'Bass, Symphonic, Neo-classical, New Age, Experimental
and etc. |
| Lavalamp
Records History |
| Lavalamp Records was established
and named by two artists / musician@AQi Fzono
and Hypnotic Twin in 2001. In the late 1980s, they started an underground progressive
trance music group named Psychedelic Plants Research Laboratory. They were also involved
in a psychedelic event called Multimedia Visionquest,
featuring electronic music, tribal music, videodrug and dance. |
| They think that today's music has become too much industrialized
and commercialized. Since 1990s they have had dreamed of establishing
their own label, as a foundation of anti-commercialism where they
can simply and straightly do what they want to do. - Lavalamp Records
realizes this idea. |
| Why "Lavalamp"
? |
| "Lava
Lamp" (OK, not "Lavalamp") is originally
a famous unique psychedelic toy that was popular in the late 1960s.
They named their company / label inspired by this symbol
of psychedelic culture from the decade they were born in. |
| In the US, some people think that
the "hippie" thoughts and way of life have already vanished
and become a kind of fashion, but they do not think so.
They regard them as one of the most important thoughts for 21 Century
- grown in the hippie communes in the US. |
